Way back in 2003, when popular movies like The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, both The Matrix Reloaded, and The Matrix Revolutions, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, as well as Bruce Almighty were hitting the big screen, I started My first real job. It was for a small mom and pop movie rental shop called Family Flix (shout out to any of those that rented movies from there). They would take VHS tapes and DVD’s, rip the video, edit it, and then record the edited video back on a VHS tape or burn it to a DVD. I now know this model is highly illegal, but the passion for edited movies has stuck with me through the years.
After I stopped working at Family Flix, and no longer had unlimited access to edited movies, I started looking for other options to continue to watch Hollywood movies the way I wanted (without obscene words and images). I tried several different options over the years, including editing movies myself for personal use, but the companies I would use would usually close up shop shortly after opening, and editing the movies myself became somewhat counterproductive. There have been some companies that have stuck around, and for them I am very grateful, but they still have their limitation, and I have an itch for more. Because of that itch I decided to start Bleeper.tv, and create something that can continue to grow.
I hope you will join me on this journey that started all the way back in 2003, and is not ending any time soon.
